So, i did a little drilling and cutting on one of the twins...Mounted two round flush mounts in the front and two rectangle flushes in the back. All mounted overthe existing hobie pole holder holes so no large holes drilled!..yet.

I'm ditching deployment arm method of transducer mounting for the shoot through method. I gooped it the inside of the hull, hopefully it works well the first time. I really want to have a working finder for Simpson tomorrow..

Then i did a little Cby&C maching....

But what is it you ask? well this of course! my new finder mount

Plenty of room for reboarding on either side in case of huli...

Working on a custom no crate setup for pole holders, stay tuned.
See ya on the water..

I was able to actually rig one of the padeyes on top of the rectangular Scotty rod mount like the one you have in the second picture to lock my rod leashes instead of drilling it beside the rod mount. I didn't think it would fit but it did.

Looks good. I noticed that you have the Scotty Gear Head mount. How do you like it?

CBY, although I love your wood working skills and mucho creativity......why on earth didn't you just use a RAM wedge mount to go from the Scotty hole to the RAM arm?   :dontknow:

Did you do it this way to get by for the short term, and wood was what you had to work with?

I was thinking the same thing. I love what you've done with the place, but why the wood and not a wedge?

The gear head is awesome! really like 'em alot. They lack the fine adjustment of the ram ball but are rock solid. once you get it set where you like it , it's not moving.. One tip, if you want the main angle to be like mine straight back, make sure you mount the flush mount with the inboard arrow at 90 degrees to the angle you want. That way you get your base setting.

It's really nice not having to reach way up there to grab the pole when you get a strike. And if i ever had to paddle i can turn it inward and crank the pole holder up and have plenty of paddle room

Looks good Roy. So what are you doing with the other outback?

For now it's for friends and family to use when they visit. My brother is coming here for a couple weeks in aug.-sept. from hawaii. Can't wait to get him out there for salmon!
