Looks awesome, Allen!

The site loads fastest using Chrome, with an average pageload time of 3.42 seconds.

The main reason I use Chrome.   ;D

WR and PDX, you guys should try tapatalk.  It's way better than using your phone's browser.

Tapatalk is the way to go. I use it more than the regular browser.

Sorry RR, but I am all about free. Tapatalk costs a couple of bucks on Iphone. I usually do not have any issues with any websites.

I got a love/hate relationship with Tapatalk.  I love to use it, but as a site admin/creator, I hate it.  I do not have any control over the look and feel of it.

OK.  I removed the right side ad for the time being.  That right column is the one causing all the problems.

-Allen

That was helpful.  The left column is REALLY wide though.  Takes up about 30% of the screen width.

Left column issue resolved.

I reverted to ...

Ad on left.
AOTY info on right on front page only.

I'll have to experiment some more to do what I have in mind, but I'll save that for another day.

Free works for me.  I like Opera mini for android better than the stock browser.  It is free on the iphone too.  NWKA home page loads noticeably faster than stock and does a better job of displaying images on pages as well.

Looks good on my phone and 1280 display.  Nice work.

I tried Opera for the Iphone, but some of the buttons (like in the recent topics page) did not seem to work properly. It seems like every browser has some issues and I am used to the ones with Safari :)

I set the forum to a fixed width to see what your thoughts are.  So?  What are your thoughts?

This is turning into a tricky thing.  With display monitors increasing, we all started getting used to our big screens.  But then the damn phones brought us back the stone age.  I've set the display width to 1024.  I also set the display size of attached images to be such that you don't have to scroll left/right when viewing.  Not much I can do about BBC embedded images.  However, if you size your BBC image to be 560, it will display without having to scroll.  You do this by adding "width=560" to the leading IMG tag.

Code: [Select]
[IMG width=560]PUT IMAGE LINK HERE[/IMG]
Ideally, I'd like to go a tad wider.  But let's try this first and see what the feedback is.

I like the site set-up! Only annoying thing is on a phone the "who's on-line" line sometimes stretches over the width of the screen and follows you around like a stalker :). Anyone know how to fix this? Is it how I have my phone set-up?

Which Phone and OS version?

This used to be a problem in that the bar would scroll.  But newer updates to phones and the forum sw have solved this.  Although I do see a lag in the redraw when scrolling and the bar does "follow me around", but it does settle on the bottom.

It's an iPhone. It does settle eventually but re-engages every time I change threads.
