Hey everyone, my name is Austin. I've fished here in oregon all of my life but was recently turned on to this new addiction of kayak fishing. I purchased my first kayak just yesterday(tarpon 140) and hope to meet more kayak angler's in the future.

With the very cold water temperatures, immersion gear is an essential safety items nearly year-round, particularly in the Ocean/cold rivers etc. A set of wader + dry top combo is an effective,  cheaper alternative to a dry-suit.

I have a buddy in Dayton who fishes out of a Tarpon 140. He doesn't post here, but he does read it sometimes. He would probably enjoy some company, since when we fish together, by the end of the day he is usually well behind my Hobie. (That is a dig for Biddlesmon - not you mx.)

I love that place, but haven't been there lately.  Make sure you get a really good quality and comfortable(in the sitting position) PFD, skimp on other fishing gear if you have to.
