With only a few weeks away from my Christmas Island trip, I have been getting out in the fresh water and salt water.  We have had just about no rain here in the past couple of months and the local fresh water rivers are as low as I have seen them in years.  Which makes for some great pike fishing in the river about 1/4 mile from my house.  With the low, slow and clear water, I have caught close to 30 northern pike,  with most being in the 24-32 inch range,  with a couple in the high 30's.  Here is a nice one I got last week.

The winds have finally let up a bit to try my luck yesterday in the salt water for stripers.  I landed a couple nice one just at sunrise and then it died down.

Hi Danny, good to hear from you. Those pike look like they'd be a lot of fun. Be sure to send a Christmas report when it's all said and done.  Looking forward to hearing about that one!

Thanks for checking in. I was wondering how the mild winter and quick transition to summer like weather has affected things for you guys back east. Doesn't look like the Honey Badger Pike give a sh!t.
