Actually, tiger muskie are northern pike x muskie hybrids.. so they're even more like pike than pure muskies.  The reason tiger muskie were stocked here is that being a hybrid they're sterile and can't overrun the lake.  For an example on a lake being overrun by a member of the pike family see the CA DFG battle with northern ipike in Lake Davis, CA.

I grew up catching northern pike, mostly ice fishing, but they're a blast when you do hook one.  I'm hoping the kayak gives us some stealth advantage.

I second the "dino soirée".  Get some intel done down there, and let's do it.  We gotta get some dinos up on the AOTY board.

I would like to target a tiger muskie at some time, but I think I'll wait until summer.  They also have them in Tapps Lake.

Sounds good, I'll look at some internet resources and post it in a seperate thread.

Targeting some Tiger Muskie sounds fun too. I need to go visit my sister on Whidbey Island sometime this year.Need too plan some fishin stops on the way there and back.Maybe the end of june with a stop at this Mayfield lake....Let me know if this sounds possible for anyone to go that time.
See ya on the water..
