Well it looks awesome. Quite an investment in time when life and other projects interfere, but the end result looks to be all worth it.

It is relaxing and it lets me keep my artsy- fartsy side satisfied, as well.

I may put a mirage drive well in it.  But, house remodeling is getting in the way.

Anyways, I finished up the kayak and it is off to its new home.  Here is a quick video on how I did the hatches.  I wanted them to be flush with the surrounding deck to be less noticeable.  It's a short video that doesn't show every step.  I left out the obvious steps like, "drill a hole here", but a person should be able to figure out how everything was done via the video.

Also, my Kodak software for the Playsport was somehow corrupted and unusable.  Since the software is on the camera, and the camera is at the bottom of the Willamette I had to buy new software.  I am glad I did.  I purchased Serif MoviePlusx5.  It is awesome.  I got it real cheap as part of a bundle with PhotoPlusx4 ( http://www.amazon.com/Serif-PMSUSMBRT-Photo-Movie-Suite/dp/B004XO6UOY/ref=sr_1_6_title_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1337204877&sr=1-6 ) in case anyone is looking for video editing software.

Anyways, on Saturday we took it for a shakedown cruise on the mighty muddy mistress we know and love, the Tualatin.  She tracks like an arrow and my friend easily kept pace with the Outback, which I was peddling at a normal cruising pace.  Of course the Outback easily weighs twice as much.  I believe the weight of the wooden kayak came in at about 45 pounds outfitted.

Now there is a new kayaking addict out running loose in the general population.  He is already planning trips.

Old thread huh?  ANyways ... I still want one of those mini drifters.  I didn't see Craig asked for measurements.  But gee ... I'd still love a FG version.  Mark, did you find the mold yet?

Hey Allen----YES I found the mini-drifter mold and my partner that used to make them with me.He still works with fiberglass and is only a couple of hours away from me.He is in Puyallup. If you'd like I'll call him up and get some particulars...time,cost,etc. I already know dimensions, weights, and about what it cost to add custom features.
PM me or e-mail @ marksafishin@yahoo.com. and I'll relay all that I can.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
