Hmmmmmm 25 people signed up for the ORC so far and only 8 people bringing food to the Potluck/Awards Ceremony......

-Spot-

How's about a bunch of tortillas?  Do folks prefer wheat or corn?  Or should I bring some of each?  Sounds like ~100 will be needed (~4 tacos each).  Maybe 50 each corn and wheat sound good?

I'll think about what else I can bring that's a bit more ... inspired.  Anyone interested in deer jerkey?

I'm kind of a believer in the luck part of Potluck. I have to think a little about which of my specialties I want to contribute... 2 days of things possibly needing to be on ice factors in. Nonetheless, in order to help things along, I will at least bring chips, peanuts, pretzels type munchie things.

Sumpnz, we'll need more than that.  It will be a lot more than 25 people at the potluck.  Seemed closer to 70 (with ~40 participants) last year.

So, Marie and I will bring her awesome cookies, and 100 corn tortillas in addition to what Sumpnz brings.  Black beans too.

Perhaps some Azul too, or Rum, not sure which yet.

I'll bring some assorted 2 liter/cans of different sodas and/or bottles of water. I assume there will be some coolers to toss them in with some ice.

I can make up a batch of Baja fish taco sauce.

I'll bring some homemade Irish beer bread to go with the ribs and chowder.  Sorry, I don't have a GF recipe for it.

I'll see if I can't get the wife to cook up some Japanese Charshu. Kind of like Kalua pork but braised in a soy sauce based marinade. Mmmmmmmmmmm...

Put me down for shredded cabbage and cilantro.

Can't have a fish taco without these.   :-\

I'm going to bring some cole slaw - not the runny mayonnaise kind, but an oil/soy sauce kind. Pairs up with fish tacos pretty well.

I thought I volunteered to bring batter somewhere, but not finding it on this thread.  How much would we need and what brand is recommended?  Pride of the West?

I just fired up the smoker with the first batch of the jerkey.  I figure it's about 6-7lbs of raw meat, so it should yield 2-3lbs of dry jerkey.  The batch in there right now is a sorta spicy cayanne/soy sauce savory marinade.  The next batch will be more of a teriyaki.  I hope that one turns out.  Never done that marinade before.  Both will be smoked at ~140F with a mix of mesquite and hickory chips.

I also picked up the tortillas.  Got I think 80 white corn, and 40 or 60 wheat.
