As last report of my Unhappyness, Derek At The Kayak Shed, (Good Guy)  Has Swapped my 120 for 115 , At first Glance You'd Not see any Diffrents But there are alot, First off the 120 was more a low profile chine hull, and sat low in the water, The 115 is a Tri hull design and just a tad shorter but almost 3" wider, it Also has a 500 lb rating, Night and Day Handling Diffrence in the water, Where on the 120 I was wet , in the 115 Im high and dry, Much better tracking and Seaworthy also, Where I was Plowing the water in the  120(only Due to My masive weight) I'm now cutting thur the water, And the Sliding Adjustable seat  is Realy Nice too.Thank's Again Derek , (Kayak shed)Your the Man. And I promise to catch a few fish in it Befor I add anything or put a hole in it, And with the track system Ive already fig out how to do the Fish finder and pole holder with out any holes..SO LOOK OUT AOTY I've gotta play Catch up, AND I plan too. Sunset Looked Pretty good Today Even With the Down Poring Rain..Didn't care Much for the 530 mile round trip. guys at the Kayak shop Need a Place Closer to the coast.. AGAIN HAPPY !! HAPPY!! HAPPY!! Tarpon 115 is Nice..

Yo jgrady, sounds like you found a good yak. Would that be the "Ride 115" model?

Yesterday I paid attention to how close the water came to the top of my scuppers in my 2009 Tarpon 140, and I was a bit disturbed to see that it was within 1/4" of  overflowing any of the scuppers in front of my seat. I weigh a tad under 160, and I figure I had a total added net weight of no more than 230-240 lbs on my yak. I bet 300 lbs would see  the scuppers overflowing.

Yes, it's the Ride 115,The 2 big changes is Hull shape and the Seat height, the seat is not flat in the boat it sets up a good 2" and adjust forward or Aft.with that you can change the way the kayak is trimmed out and how it flotes and My feet and butt stay dry, I'm use to getting a bit wet while Kayaking but I don't get wet much with the Ride 115 and it just Handle's so much better..I've Done alot of kayaking and Boat building and boating in my life, and in boat design a fore and Aft veiw of the lines of a boat tell's how it is shape'd and how it ride's in the water, I think they should show that in the adds of kayaks, It would help alot on picking a good boat.

Congrats on the new yak, and kudos to the shop for letting you trade the other one back in.  I'm float checking my new Trident 15 next week and doing some deep water practice re-boarding her.  Looking forward to doing a little fishing in Hagg after the practice runs.

3 cheers for Kayak Shed!

Curious though on what the conversation was with the shop you originally purchased it from?

It was all good we just did a strait swap, and derek was really helpfull, I also demo the Coosa , It's Ok but it's got a bit more rocker and a river type bottom. and cost a bit more,I like the Tarpon Ride 115, He did ask me to catch a few fish in it befor I added any attachments. as It is also a non angler Model..
