Anyone ever heard of towing a small floatable behind the yak when ocean fishing?  Fishing buddy of my dad's says his kid down in California always drags some sort of "dingy" behind his yak to throw his catch's in as to not bloody up his yak.

No, but I've got a friend that wants to tow a inflatable Orca Pool toy to scare the Seals off. LOL hope it works

You know I have one of those same toys.  Let me know if it works and maybe we can start a new "interniche" business......

To not bloody his yak? Seriously? Must be related to the guys who make you take your shoes off before you get in his car...actually had that happen in Japan.

Man, i catch and release a lot but when it comes to hauling in food fish, I take pride in dressing up my kayak with a little...no, LOTS of red "war paint"! Do I have some kind of mental issues I should be addressing?!?!

Try a spearfishing float made by Omer.  I've got one, it'll float about 50-75 lbs and is lightweight...it's also about the same width as a yak, so no too much extra drag.

No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

My Dad says there are some pics of guys using them if Florida in his new CCA magazine.  I'll pick it up tomorrow and check it out and report back.  Ditto on the warpaint, I mean really, what the hell..............

Our sister site has a get together on an island once a year. only way to get there is to load up your expedition gear, all your food and water, paddle over. Theres multiple pics of guys towing a mini x, a t11 or 13, etc, behind thier larger yaks. One seemed to confuse a fishing tournament with a beer drinking binge, and loaded two kegs on a T13!

In the same group are a lot of spearos. Many paddle their yaks out, but on the back is a smaller divers fishing float they use to hold extra gear or their fish bags.

Maybe that's what your guy was getting at. ?
