I will try to explain... to dark to take pics...

I have two mounts for the rod holders that are utterly useless to me.  Partly cause IM too wide... but even if I was skinny as a rail the holders are in really awkward places... you have to bring your arms back (not behind you) to get to the rod.  It seems a rod should be in front of you in some fashion.  So, the question...

Has anyone fashioned a cheap fix that allows you to still plug into the rod mount and use the rod holder?

You've entered the realm of kayak fishing young Padawan Learner. Unless you can make it out of PVC, nothing is cheap. ;D  If it is cheap, there is a chance it could lead to your death. :o

Grasshopper. Refer to the Zenmasters Drillin' & Cuttin' section. If using a rod holder for trolling,etc. it should probably be in front of you.
