On the south side of Double Bluff the current was higher than I had expected and I was out there at max flood.  The current was not intuitive.  It was flowing toward the west pushing what seemed to be about 1.5kts.  Normally in calm conditions (and it was) I can pedal about 4 kts sustained.  I was only making about 2.5 kts headed east toward the little off-leash dog park.  I think it must be a counter tide eddy in Useless Bay.

The current and earlier light wind made the drifts a constant pedaling affair.

I found the same sort of conditions on the north side of the bluff in Mutiny Bay a couple of days before.  In the afternoon the winds calmed and the current was not intuitive.  During the max flood the current was pulling me NW.  Again I think it was a reverse eddy in Mutiny Bay.  I could tell because I was drifting between anchored boats.   Made avoiding territory infringement and anchor lines in 100+ water with A LOT of scope a pedaling affair.

The bottom of Mutiny Bay 1.0-1.25 NM SW of the boat launch seems to be a series of overlapping humped plates sloping down to the south.  Very interesting.
