I'm going to get my 8 year old son a kayak. Mainly for fishing with me in my Revo 13. I was thinking of the Revo 11 for him. Anyone have experience with suitable kayaks for a kid want to add comments?

I just picked up a Potomac Tidewater Angler 100 SOT for my 10-12 year old grandsons. It was on sale for $399 at Dicks and I had a $20 coupon. It's a fishing yak, 10' long, 30" wide, 45 lb has 2 flush mounts plus a Scotty mount and a very large rear deck for milk crate plus a small front hatch.

My youngest went out on Lacamas last Saturday and he got the hang of it quickly. I played with it too and really enjoyed it. Can't wait to try fishing from it. Maybe tomorrow.

My thoughts ran towards a tandem so I could have the kids (one at a time at least) in the yak with me.  Got to get a bit more seat time in myself though before I'd even want to think about that.

I've been eyeballing the Mirage sport. Should fit the kids a little better than the revo 11. I'm gonna give the lil'bean a season or two more on my ride before I exile him to his own boat.

I like those.  Might have to pick up a pair.
