Hvordan har du det?
Jeg har det fint, tak! (I'm fine thanks!). Google.translate or Scandinavian roots?

My parents and siblings were all Danish, mother from Karise, and a bilingual early childhood so I can manage a few phrases, still. I just started kayak fishing last year. This is a very helpful and informative group. I hope you stick around and put up some Danish fish porn for us to see.

Interesting! In case you will ever visit DK, give me call. I'm sure we can arrange for a back-to-the-roots kayak fishing trip ;-)

I'll see what I can do regarding the fish porn.....

Welcome Dan. I know a few people of Danish descent here - Norgaards and Farnstroms - as there are a lot of Scandinavians in the Pacific Northwest. (My wife is half Norwegian and quarter Swedish.)

I think it is great that we have "outsiders" on the forum, it adds more spice. I certainly have looked at sites in other areas as good advice can come from anywhere. Feel free to chime in whenever you want! Pics and vids are especially welcome.

karibuni bwana!  Habari gani???

I used to live in Kenya and saw many of the Giant Trevelly while diving!! Let's see some pics of those big boys! Did you use kayaks in Kenya/Tanzania for fishing?  I have a nightmare of a story about being "lost at sea" in a dug out canoe in Kenya that I may have to share with you some day.

Welcome and keep the pics coming!!!

Thanks! However, I'm not sure how the majority of the NWKA members feel in relation to non-US based NW kayak anglers on your forum. ;-)

welcome the the NW!
My thought is as long as you have a want to learn and share any information about fishing nobody cares where you live.

Welcome!  My great-grandmother's maiden name was Rasmussen (her parents were immigrants from Denmark I think).  That's about all the connection I have to Denmark.

Looking forward to the pish pr0n.

Unfortunately, GT fishing is not what it used to be on the Tanzanian side of the coast. This is mainly due to dynamite fishing. There are still some good spots though. I have done very little kayak fishing in TZ - and without much success. I'm looking forward to your "lost at sea" story!

Here's a 88lbs GT landed on stand-up popping/stickbait spinning tackle. This fish is from Tokara Islands, Japan (between Okinawa and Kyushu). I'm the exhausted guy with the cap.

Welcome to the forum.  DK and WA, OR, BC, AK are probably similar in terms of kayak fishing conditions, particularly southwest Alaska and British Columbia, as both are very cold water fisheries, with ocean and inshore saltwaters.

I was in Denmark for business for a week back in the mid-1990's.  Spent time in Copenhagen, Helsingor, Bagvaerd, but spent most of my time at the Hagedorn Research Institute.  At the time the HRI was surrounded by dairy farms.  I loved the place, but did not have a chance to return.

We all look forward to your participation.  Invite all your kayak fishing friends here and perhaps we can create  a DK regional sub-forum.
