I finally took some time and rigged one of the Outbacks today and it turned out just fine.  Unfortunately, the other Outback has to go back to Hobie because the cockpit sagged while cooling after molding and there isn't a flat surface to be found.  Next time I buy a kayak I'm bringing a straight edge along.  I installed a padeye for the Mirage drive leash and two Scotty 444 flush mounts just in front of the stock rod holders.  The 444's are backed with large high density polypropylene washers which really stiffened the mounts up.  The 385ci fish finder is on a Ram wedge mount and the transducer is held on the outside of the hull with a suction cup kit.

Nice. You might want to move that transducer inside. Pretty easy to break it off there. Now you just need some fish blood!
