Slight thread jack, but this fits a bit better here.

the plant i'm currently working at has Z-Man fishing co-located with it. The office is out front on the street but the molding facility is right next to our building # 3. They frequently dump thier mistakes in an open dumpster between building 3 and themselves. maybe the colors are off or something, but a lot of this stuff doesnt look all that bad. for whatever reason, they can't or won't retail it.

guess who's been dumpster diving and coming up with swim, jerk and other baits as well as their peeler crabs and pile worms? inject or spray a bit of scent on them, or do like i did sunday and magic thread a sliver of crab flavored saltwater gulp cut bait onto a hook with one of the peelers, and you have a great low cost bait for intrercoastal fishing.

which remoinds me, i have to check the dumpster again in a few days......... ;D

There is no shame in that WR. Do they look like big hammers? I don't think I've seen them before.

That's a total score WR! I love free stuff out of dumpsters. I found a good source of foam next door to my office, but that's about it :)

Thanks, guys.
I dont think they are as close to Big Hammers as as other makers might be. Colors, ehh, more variety but still not the same.

these are known mostly for their elasticty and durability..... a 2 inch will stretch out to around 6 if you pull it. you should see how long things stretch out when we're trying to pull things out from under other piles of sprue without trying to move the stuff on top....

they did a demo not long ago. Used one of their 9 inch jerk baits, attached it to the tines of a forklift, then to a pallet with weight,  picked it up  and the darn thing stretched out to like 2 feet! and still picked up the pallet.

Back to Big Hammers; As you click thru the site and it's links, be sure to take a close look at the hooks they reccommend. Some swimbaits work best with certain brand hooks, and this might be the case for BH too. I know here, the locals are using 4- 6 inch swimming flatfish imitations made by Hogy and that maker tells you to use only weighted hooks in a certain size to get them to work right. Target? Cobia.. and the fish slam these things.

Have fun killin the lings with the Hammers.

Ling Banger is onto something, this could get my grandson to start fishing! Does Big Hammer make a Pikachu or JigglyPuff?

I think those look deadly, RR. Especially the color scheme on the left.

Sexy smelt is not pictured above. The one on the left is Bleeding Rainbow Trout. It has an iridescent purple glow to it when you shine a light in it. Should work well.
