Rusted - Jig Heads and hooks

I rinse ALL my gear, boat, drysuit, PFD, booties, gloves, cart, rod/reel, - everything right after getting home or to fresh water.  I put all the terminal fishing gear that contacted salt water either in the Hobie gear bucket or in something a bit bigger and flush with copious amounts of fresh water, drain, and air dry.  Works quite well.  Not sure I want to use WD-40 on my lead heads.  Slippery and sharp just doesn't sound like a good idea.

And, I take the terminal gear in the house where it is warmer so they dry quicker.

Yeah let me clarify, you don't want to coat your jigs with WD-40, just use it to help remove rust that has already started.

But like Demonick stated, rinse everything with lots of fresh water.  Then coat your drysuit zipper, mirage drive, mirage drive mount, and other moving parts with silicone lube.

I forgot to rinse my beloved corryvreckin paddle once, and getting it to function properly took 15 minutes of WD-40 assisted manipulation.

Oh and don't rinse your gear off on your lawn.  It leaves big dead brown patches.  DAMHIK.
