Let's get this party started! I plan to fish both days, assuming seas are 6 feet or under with a decent duration and the wind isn't over 10 MPH. I've fished Depoe a time or two and am happy to share what I know. To try and keep the group organized please indicate if you'd like to join, your level of salt experience, and if you have a radio. If you're new and don't have a radio we'll try and pair you with someone that does.

6-14 meeting at Depoe Ramp at 8:00
-Noah-radio, salty
-Justin-no radio,not salty
-islandson671-?, salty
-OlySpec-radio, brackish
-wobbler-radio, brackish
-PNW-radio, salty
-upnorthtex,no radio,brackish

12:00 arrival or later

-J-fek-radio, brackish
-sumpnz-radio, brackish
-sherminator-radio, brackish
-DeaFish- radio, saltish
-Mark Collett-radio, salty
-Yaksurf-radio, salty

-wobbler-radio, brackish
-PNW-radio, salty
-browneysvictim-radio,salty

-Tenacious_B, radion, not salty

11:00ish to late afternoon
-ravdakot-radio, salty
-jpcrowley80-no radio, brackish
-Lee/Marie-radion, salty

Required:
-ATV Safety flag (about 10 bucks at bi-mart if you don't have one)
-Immersion wear (dry suit, wet suit, waders+dry top)
-PFD
-Water
-Seasickness pills unless you're sure you don't get seasick. Take one pill an hour before launch and another one at launch (thanks Spot). Then repeat every 4-6 hours.
-OR fishing license and invasive species permit.

Gear:
-Lead headed jigs in 2 oz to 6 oz with plastic tails or swim baits.
-Radios are nice to have but not required. If you don't have a VHF you need to stay close to one of the guys that do. Think within ear shot.
-Lip grippers or heavy leather gloves are required for handling the lings. I wouldn't bother with a net but your call.
-A game clip or length of rope that you can use to put your fish on.
-A measuring device. Ling minimum size is 22", cabezon is 16", and no minimum for rockfish. Check the ODFW on how to identify if you're not familiar with them.

We'll be monitoring channels 80 and 69 if you show up late and want to find the gang. Feel free to PM, text or call me 503-314-1676. I'll be staying at Chinook Bend Thursday night through Saturday.

   See ya'll there.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Since this will be standard operating procedures for the ORC, it is best to practice it now.
Noah mentioned it in his original post, but I would like to mention it again so everyone is clear.

When it comes to shooting the hole at Depoe Bay, you have two options:
  • Have your own VHF and be on channel 80
-Know the comms procedures mentioned in the Depoe Bay info thread and use them.

  • Go through the hole with someone that has a VHF.

I'll be at the ORC, I just won't be able to make the pre-fish.
