To grab a low hanging branch and pull yourself towards it, buddy boat, or dock, etc...

Or just to reach that itch beyond your normal reach.   ;)

Retrieval of snagged lures. Pretty nice to have when bass fishing.

Couldn't you use a plastic cutting board and have it for fillet board back up ?
