Had a blast with the "Barbie" pole this year.  I really look forward to doing it again next year!

Even better, the winner gets the GLORY of knowing you caught a bigger fish on a kiddie pole than Allen could raise on "grown-up" gear :P :P

If a kiddie pole gets a larger fish than I, or my 2 newbies in tow, can get on big boy gear, I will donate $100 to the children's charity.  Rory, you got the other side of this bet?

-Allen

Oh man.  I paid up my $100 thinking that I was the only person that needed to get a bigger fish than any of the barbie pole guys.  Looks like I included my newbies in the bet.  Sumpnz definitely got a larger fish than any of the barbie guys.

Done!  I put in $20, but I'll add $80 more and make the total donated $281.

But...I feel bad if I misunderstood the rules and falsely gloated in triumph!  Did your CA guys catch a fish bigger than 6lbs?  Or did I just totally mis-read your bet rules?

No bad feelings!

I quoted my original post where I clearly stated my 2 newbies in tow.
You quoted your post where you clearly said my Californies in tow and I didn't refute that.

We're both winners!  (Or losers if you look at it that way)

Rory, you still won the kiddie pole contest, and Allen won the bet - so lets go with "both winners"   :)

My apologies!  I publicly retract my "lost bet" comment at the awards!!

I like the idea of the side-bets-for-charity though, we'll get it right next year.  and yeah, the misunderstanding ends up in more $ for a good cause.

Video of the barbie pole catch.  Would have been teensy compared to Spot's, had his not spit the hook after a 40min battle on the kiddie rig.  I daresay Spot would've won not just the Barbie Division, but the entire ORC!

That's DTS (I believe it's Dave) I am talking to.

His boy sean caught a monster cab, nice work!

Nice video  Rory, you made landing the cabby look easy.  The barbie rod side bet was a great idea too, especially because it allowed NWKA to give back to the community.  Next year I am going to upgrade Adora so I don't lose every piece of lead I send down in search of fish.
