>:D >:D >:D

I ain't using a kiddie rod on game day at ORC.  ORC is a man's game.  There's no room for boys at this one.  You barbie rod toting fools are just looking for another excuse to say why you lost.

 >:D >:D >:D

Now, say you wanted to play your little game on Friday ... hmmm.

-Allen

I encourage you guys to fish as much as you want, all day in fact, with the kiddie poles. It's what real men would do..  Heck bring fly rods too >:D.

....and hand lines!   ;D

I'm in for Friday for the kiddie rod contest. I'll throw in $5 bucks for the tourney. however, I'd like to make a proposal....

I would't mind making this a fund raiser for the kiddies! If I won, I'd donate the winnings to Dornbeckers, Childrens Miracle Network or Children First of Oregon. Heck, I'll even throw in another $5 for a collection anyway!

Oh no no no no no. You seem confused!  :-\

It's the REAL MEN who can fish with anything (including a scooby-do pole) and the others (did I say sissies?) who need a G. Loonie or Lame-ass-glass to gitterdun! >:D

We'll see who the sissies are when the ORC winning fish is reeled in on a barbie pole!

I'm with you on this. I've been thinking about it all morning. However, a local cause or charity would be more appropriate in my opinion. Could be a meaningful way to give back to the community that provides the opportunity. Good karma.

Rory, I nominate you organizer and final rule maker of the Barbie Rod division.

May I suggest that you explicitly allow only combo units with closed face reels?  This might even aleviate the need to have cartoon graphics.  Though I think cartoon graphics should be worth at least an extra 8oz at final weigh in.

Alrighty, thanks Spot.  Last thing you need is more organizational duties! Here's the final rule proposal:

* Use any line you want (catching big fish is the idea, not breaking hearts...it will also reduce the amount of gear left in fishes mouths)
* As Spot said, any closed-face "kiddie" combo unit will work.  Doesn't have to have cartoons on it.  Subject to inspection :P
* $5 buy-in
* Winner gets $20 to cover the buy-in, and the cost of the kiddie gear.  Even better, the winner gets the GLORY of knowing you caught a bigger fish on a kiddie pole than Allen could raise on "grown-up" gear :P :P The rest goes to a children's charity.
* heaviest overall fish caught with kiddie pole wins
* Video footage or witness needed

Going once...

If a kiddie pole gets a larger fish than I, or my 2 newbies in tow, can get on big boy gear, I will donate $100 to the children's charity.  Rory, you got the other side of this bet?
