Please tell me that's not what he was wearing on the water...

Alaskan's only need a neck knife and extra tuffs.  "Jeans... the Alaskan dry suit" ;D

I prefer extratuffs and swim trunks.  And we got rid of the ice.....like 3 or 4 weeks ago.  That's why I'll be out this weekend.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Could someone from the alaska crew run down and post the story for us? I think it's driving a few members here somewhat to distraction.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

I hear that they (charters) are catching some nice halibut in the shallows right now while trolling for kings. I probably can't make it till the 16-17 to hit the salt
Again!

Thanks Allen -- I was hoping I wouldn't have to go all Sherlock Holmes on this, 'cause I'm pretty eager for details too.

I got the pic from the guy's father.  He's passing my contact info onto him, so hopefully I'll chat with him soon.  I was sort of thinking/hoping it was one of you guys.

Definitely raises the bar. The halibut are taking much longer to get to that size these days so it is a fish of a lifetime from a yak. It's an awesome fish from even a powerboat! Amazing!

Holy smokes. Kid's got a fish story for the next 70 years! Amazing that he was able to handle it. Lucky he held onto it, too.

That must have been the fish you hooked into a while back

Pulled a hundred pounder onboard with hiim without killing it?!  Lucky he didn't get hurt.

And yes, I'm jealous too!  Nice one.   :)

"Dropped a herring in 25 feet of water..."  Uh, yeah, I'll reserve the rest of my jealous criticisms!   :D
See you at Gimme Shelter

Kinda just shows you that you can figure stuff out as it happens. Sure the kid was massively underprepared, but he made it work.

This is my fishing partner  Austin and yes he was wearing a drysuit the fish dragged him 2 miles in his ocean kayak prowler once he finally got the upper hand on the fish it wouldn't fit in the back so he put the fish in the front and sat on its head lol great fish and a good story and I was happy to witness it
