Awesome!  I'm glad to see the big retailers getting involved.

Who's presenting?

Hope they actually know something about kayaking.

I was at the Cabelas in Lacey and I watched a employee there inform a customer that pretty much all the kayaks they sell there are only good for lakes not saltwater.  He even told them that ocean kayaks was just a brands name that they were not necessarily kayaks for the ocean.

Guys. As we all know(hopefully), there will always be folks who misrepresent themselves as experts and steer people the wrong way. This is way to prevelent in all professions and unfortunately the consumer pays the price. These folks should actually pass that customer on to a person that has the proper knowledge where the customer is properly informed,is satisfied with their purchase(the right one), and becomes a loyal consumer with his/hers business.
As for myself(seminar speaker), I follow what I preach. I don't profess to know everything and am not to proud to admit that. As for my qualifications in kayak fishing, the same applies. I've been into the sport for around 4 years and have learned a plethora from this site and from fishing with some of you. I've caught Bass, Trout, Kokanee, Salmon, Lings, Halibut and Sturgeon(both in posts on the site last May 2011). I've helped Newbies learn on the water and learned the same from veterans. That being said, anyone is welcome to attend for some straight talk
on kayak fishing on Sat 6/23 at 2:00pm at Tulalip Cabelas.

So is this just a one off seminar or is cabelas making a push to serve the yak fishing community?

Good stuff man, too bad it's so far away!

I think Cabela's is also listed as an ORC sponsor.   Edit:  Apparently not.  I was either dreaming, or read something wrong!

LOL

Sorry maybe I should learn to read.  I had not noticed your post stating it was you Fishnut.  I just read the first post and assumed it would just be one of there sales associates.  I know you know stuff and was not accusing other wise.  Bad Chris for not paying attention.

Cabelas is donating some stuff to the ORC.  I'm picking those items up from fishnut Wednesday night and will deliver them to the ORC on Thursday night.  Not sure what all is in the bag though.

Oh, and Rich, I'll see if I can make it to the seminar, but I'm not sure I'll have the time.  My birthday is the next day, and it sounds like that'll be a busy day, so I may be stuck doing chores on Saturday.
