Ah Lee ... I thought you had more cardio in you. That's barely over the 1000 cal/hr mark.
You have set the challenge and if I get a short day at work this week I'll see what I can crank out on the treadmill. "Watch out .... Big guy running!!" It kinda sounds like a herd of elephants.

Power Yoga on Sunday was easier than usual I am not sure if I am happy or bitter. =) gotta love a good burn

Friday was an hour road biking at moderate fast pacing.  Fourteen miles with sprint intervals.  Sat and Sun were each comprised of a two hour SUP session.  Slight fishing involved, but nothing serious.  Likely too erratic and fast for proper trolling.  But that wasn't the point.  Today was a fat day. Well, turkey breast tacos with lots of cabbage.  Still...corn tortilla overload.

At he-who-bangs-lings' suggestion, I watched the documentary entitled "fat, sick, and nearly dead." I am already an avid juicer, but this flick was inspiration.  It reiterated the need for micro nutrients and fresh, unprocessed food. I plan on hitting the juicer with vengeance.

It's been nearly eight months since I have consumed a mammal.  I quit due to some sort of allergy, but the result transcends aversion.  I don't miss it, and I feel more energized and aware.  Lighter on the feet, if you will.  There may be something to it.

Still committed to a July 2012-2013 accumulation of miles.  The past few day's effort made me see that it is possible.

Today was a full upper body session and 30 minutes of cardio.  Dinner was baked ling with mushrooms, and a side of broccoli from the garden.

Yeahhhh! Cross post that in the food porn section.  Healthy and delicious! Well played. Curious, though...do you take protein supplements, or does the dietary intake suffice?

It depends.  I used to take protein supplements all the time, but now it's only if it's going to be an hour or more until I eat a meal, or if I need an easy breakfast.  I also started getting snobby with protein mix.  Isoflex, whey isolate, 120 calories and 27g protein per serving (usually 2 servings)

Fast Food:  Generally, it's a bad idea.  Sometimes though, you don't have time or forget your lunch at home and you're stuck with it.  Don't fret too much, there are sensible choices.

Wendys:  Their new salads are great.  My favorite is the apple pecan chicken (without blue cheese).  Comes in around 500 calories and plenty of protein to keep you full, longer.  Grilled chicken go wrap (hold the sauce) and chilli are good choices.

Taco Bell:  I must be crazy right?  Regular tacos are like 170 calories each.  If you order a crunchy chicken taco (fresca style) it's even less.  You can get away with 2+ tacos doing that.

Taco Time:  Man, healthy options abound here.  Chicken Fit hit Bowl, crunchy tacos, Baja chicken taco, etc.

Jack in the box:  Grilled Chicken strips (the non-battered kind)  They come in handy in a crunch, particularly right after the gym when you need a good dose of protein.

Also, eat 5-6 times a day.  It's hard, but throwing snacks between breakfast and lunch, and again between lunch and dinner, can make a huge impact.  Your body gets to realizing "hey, I've always got calories available, no need to store it, lets burn!"

That's great stuff, Lee.  Good stuff for the rambling, coast-bound kayak angler to know.  I have avoided fast food for a number of years now, but often suffer from a lack of travel food.  Speaking of food, here was this morning's juice:

1/2 bunch farmer marked derived kale
4 stalks celery
4 large carrots
1/4 head green cabbage
1 large orange
1 Gala apple

Yeah, it was a bit filthy, but it filled a 24oz mason jar.  I'm still buzzin' on the energy.  I may keep this recipe in the rotation.

That's some seroius gnar-gnar in that shake.

Finally had a chance to check the fatyakker blog.  I like the pre-made meals.  Marie and I like to do stuff like that, but usually with chicken.  Re-heating fish in the office can really piss people off.   :)

Baked or grilled chicken is an obvious good item.  More fun and interesting though, is ground turkey.  93/7, brown in a pan, then add BBQ sauce.  Makes for some really delicious and healthy wraps.

It was, Rev, and will likely be my go-to in the coming days.  If you're into juicing, I recommend it. Not for beginners, though.  Hopefully the banger of lings will chime in on his juicing exploits...

Still trying to eat healthy with a blown out back:

Rockfish fillet, pan fried with some seasonings...Tossed some cooked brown rice, frozen mixed veggies, and some soy in a pan, added an egg and put over the fillet.

Rockfish fried rice :)

Kale to the Chief! I'm trying to do more juicing and smoothies. Just finished a yummiest one with 4 oz. mango yogurt smoothie, 4oz coconut water, a banana and ice. Light, cool & tasty. I'like to hear some good veggie juice recipes.
