OUCH!  Just outta curiosity, and since you're giving the play by play...

What's the wakedouche/jet ski/power-gnar quotient like today?  Relative peace?  Or full on Hagg-N-da-Sun mode?

Not many boats out there. I left because I can't paddle anymore. Met Ken (forgot his user name) he caught the 11lbs trout in April

Nice.  I may grab some plastic crawdads and head out there.  Sorry about your paddle, man.  Hope it can be fixed or cheaply replaced.

What were you doing? Some kind of gorilla strokes?  Or did you pull an Insayn while trying to splash someone with water? 

Them hobie paddles are really weak. I broke mine in the surf last summer.

Hobie paddles are actually quite expensive for the level of qualify they have. Check out Lee's post. His wife won a super nice paddle at the ORC she is deciding to sell for a fair price.

Nope just started to paddle back to the boat ramp and it snapped. At first I thought I missed my stroke then I tried again and noticed that it just flopped.

Weak paddle fatigued at ORC maybe?
Thats an eye opener. I'd better start carrying my back-up in the salt again.

Just my opinion, but that's unacceptable if being used under normal and expected conditions.  Wear and tear is one thing but that looks like product failure due to manufacturing defect.  I would seek a replacement from Hobie.  Cheap, plastic blowup raft paddles from Fred Meyer hold up better than that.
