I've read many of the most recent posts here about MODs to the kayaks.  Some of the best advice is to undertake them slowly and only as I find I really need them.  There are some seriously creative folks here and I'm grateful for all that is here for me to browse and study.

I just got home tonight with my gently used Wilderness Systems Ride 135.  As a base boat it has a lot of cool features that I'm pretty darn excited about.  I have a list of things I'm contemplating adding...in due time.

Off to read and study some more.  First outing should be a liesurely family paddle on stillwater this weekend.

 - Doesn't have an anchor trolley...yet
 - Will have to figure out how to mount my fly rod holder, maybe to my milk crate behind in the tankwell
 - Has slide trax, maybe a dashboard or just a side mount or two
 - I have an older fishfinder, nothing fancy, no chart plotting/gps, but it will do for now...how to mount it and its transducer
 - I don't have a safety flag yet, will add one of those too
 - Cart, home made...scupper or strap the bottom or just buy one

I've got some modification and tinkering skills, power tools and have no fear or shame to use them.

That also leaves the issue of needing somthing more than waders and a jacket cinched to make my semi-dry suit.  Salmon season is coming and they run right along the beach just a short drive from home.

Got a few tidbits in the mail. Got the boat wet in a local lake. Paddles with the 240cm paddle from Linglady quite nice.  Seemingly lots of room in this craft. Self rescue reentry was easy in the 62* water. Turning this thing on its side to lean out was tough. I've got some mental ideas on where things might fit best.   Befor any drillin' or cuttin' I'll try to pinpoint the right spots.

Put in some work today between storm bands.  Got a few things done.
http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=3285
- Anchor trolley
- Transducer
- Lowrance Elite-4
- Battery box
- Flush mount right and left
- Scupper cart, might remove the sucpper pipe and just strap it on bottom.  Should be able to pull the pins, wheels off and store it inside

In the photos I have my seat slid forward.  Once back where I normally sit for paddling the flush mounts are well ahead of my paddle stroke.  I had some non flush mounts temporarily stuck there with some two sided tape and put the holders in place to see how they would work.  Never came close to rubbing or banging into them.  I have yet to configure my rod storage/gear storage area behind the seat and in the rear well.  Most stuff will go there.
