The video quality aint great although you can watch it in HD, the camera is shaking around, and there is junk on the lens...

Took a spur of the moment overnight trip to Hobuck and ran into Irfan and Hung (pixtster). A report is coming I'm sure

Enjoy my expletive laden narration:

no need for apologies micah.that must have been way cool.Looked like they were only about 50 yards away in the last shots.Sounded like you got a wee bit nervous ??????
        Thanks for sharing......

How was the fishing up there ?
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

The camera doesn't do it justice, the last shot was a lot closer than 50 yards!

Mark, to give you a sense of the fishing, I had a hard time touching bottom because there were so many suspended rockfish

Mark, take a look at these words of wisdom about Hobuck.

A nice spot when the conditions allow. Very similar to La Push that way. Unfortunately that's a big caveat. The surf is an issue but it's also very exposed and conditions change very quickly. I know quite a few salty kayak fishermen that have found themselves in some trouble out there. If it were on a ski resort I'd label it a double black diamond.

After being out there in the fog, increasing winds, surf etc. I'd have to agree with the double black rating. Not saying you shouldn't go, just trying to be honest about the hazards.

That place shook up SequimSalty enough that he sold every piece of his gear in one huge online yardsale. Said he got stuck in the impact zone, and somehow had his relief zipper wide open. This was after several trips out at Hobuck too. Not exactly a novice.
