Ram wedge mount in Scotty

I have a west marine Pompano 120.  It came with a scotty mount, i have my fish finder on a RAM mini mount that i have on my other kayak, and want to be able to switch beween the boats easily, so i am wondering if anyone is using the ram wedge mount in a scotty holder, and how it is working out for them?  I dont want to fill and drill more holes, as i prefer the RAM system. 

 I use one when I switch between a traditional scotty rod holder and a ram tube. It works "ok", not rock solid 100% secure but just ok. I will take the trade off as it allows me the flexibility to run two different styles of rod holders out of one mount.  I wrapped some electricians tape around the wedge to give it a tighter grab on the scotty, seems to help.

I use them, as well.  For the fish finder they work fine.  However, I will agree with what Pelagic said about using it as a rod holder.  I have noticed with a good torque on it, it can slip a bit.  That being said, I did use it for trolling for salmon on the Columbia with a good amount of weight and it worked.

Poor Scotty - LMAO- i should have thought about that before i posted for all you gutter brains- hahaha. 
Sounds like the Ram wedge works just as i thought- they work, just not rock solid (slip a little with some torque)  But isn't that what RAM maunts are like?: they are very adjustable- but with a good torque- they move a little.  thanks guys!!!
