After this latest exchange between our NCKA brethren and the landlord, I decided to do something I had (stupidly) been putting off for a while. I noodled up. I was in Freddy's and they were a buck each. I bought 18. I used 1 for my HF stand and easily slipped the other 17 into my T-13.

The noodles I used pretty well filled up the areas from the scuppers out and up under the rails, still keeping the centerline clear for rod storage. There is still some space in front of the footwells and in the bow I'd like the foam to occupy so I need to get more, but I have a good start.

Thinking of how big the bag of noodles was when I started, and all that volume turning into water/weight if there were ever a hull breach made me cringe and want to kick myself for not doing this cheap and simple precaution a long time ago.

How does the inside of your hull look? Is it cavernous? Does it echo?

Cheap insurance.

I have a couple of float bags in the hull.  I have thought about the noodles, but to me it seems like filling the kayak with them would add weight i dont want to deal with- I currently do not hang out in the salt- so being evicted by a landlord is not on my radar- should i be wary of tiger muskie?? lol

Hey Banger,  pop the hatches, flip the boat and fill it with water.  Then, take some pictures and post em.  I wanna know how low your boat floats with the noodles in the hull.  But....I don't wanna do it myself.   ;D

I've just been carrying a can of Fix A Flat, but that has me thinking it may not be enough.

Thinking I need go with the 5 gallon bucket of Slime for the vast volume inside the kayak.  ;)

Combine that with a beaching and bilge pump race, and there's another event for your kayak fishing/waterman rodeo.

Freddy's had small ones for 99 cents, large ones for $1.99. My yak is now noodled.

I have a small tire tube under my tank well in the Revo.  This provides safety floatation and support for right-side-up transport on the lumber rack carriers.  I've been hesitant to insert pool noodles into the Revo because of all the internal lines for the rudder.  I suppose a pool noodle can't really hurt braided dacron line.  Perhaps I'll create a bundle of noodles with tie wraps to keep a handle on the internal chaos.
