I was thinking of adding some adjustable outriggers for hitting the ocean. I have been on the columbia and felt plenty comfortable in it. But I'm not sure about the ocean.
How long is your sink? Jgrady tried that and it did not turn out very well. The other thing is, if you did have the outriggers and it flipped over, could you turn it over again and get back inside? How would you get the water out first? If you haven't already tried to get back into a SINK that's filled with water, it's pretty close to impossible to keep it from rolling over again. Also, even on a calm day on the ocean the wind can kick up and cause some really nasty wind waves, far worst than what you've seen on the Columbia. I think most here will agree that you will be far better off looking for an ocean capable SOT than trying to rig you SINK to get out there. You can sometimes find them for 300-500 bucks on craigslist. Actually, I've got a Tarpon 120 I'd consider letting you use in the Ocean some time, provided you can convince me you're ready. PM me if you're interested and we can chat about it more.

A skirt, good tight fitting cockpit( :nono:) , and an Eskimo roll.  No reason to exit the yak.  ;)

That's what I hoping for. Many More!!! Yeah it's a nice and quiet lake hid away in the forest. I'm not sure about the regs of the steelhead. The only think I can find is that there hatchery steelhead.
