I had a friend give me some of his old tackle and he raved about his results with with wiggle warts.  I had never heard of anyone troller for salmon with these... truth be told, I never heard anything about these.  I figure it has been awhile since they were used too... they all still have barbed treble hooks on them.  I was gonna try a couple of them... took off the trebles and replaced them with one barbless octopus hook.  Am I on the right track?  Or at least one that may produce results?

They are allot of people's go to coho lure. Remove the trebles, add two slip rings and a siwash hook to the forward hook attachment. You might have to tune it a bit after the hook swap to make sure she's still tracking correctly. Just make slight bends in the metal piece that's attached to the diving lip until she swims inline while shaking her butt proper.

Yup, they work. I put a four-bead-chain at the belly eyelet and a single hook to make it more snag resistant. I've fished them from shore, but know many guys that like to pull them with the drift boat.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

     Love the warts

While I love the thump, thump, thump of a kwikfish on the end of my rod--I have caught more salmon (Kings, silvers, and chum) with warts than any other plug.Metallic colored Mag Warts in particular.

In low, clear water try the mini-warts.Steelhead can't resist them.

Stay away from octopus hooks--use a bead chain with a siwash hook for best results.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

For Coho in the Columbia solid orange or orange herringbone does well.  Other colors can work great too ::)

Thanks PP. I actually just bought a couple different shades of orange to try at Drano. I hear that lake can yield pretty good results for salmon on the troll and orange is the color to fish. I haven't tried it yet but I'd like to start this year.
