that works great--alot of  the pb's who anchor for halibut use the breakaway trick for their anchors.

Speaking from experience, zip ties can be fairly tough to break from a kayak.  Folks fishing similar water down this way use a couple wraps of 20-40lb test.

I score the ties with a knife a few mm on each side to soften it up

Just remember that you can put float on the anchor in case you need to eject it.
