Just a heads up folks, we're starting to get some positive response from the Portland Vets Center referring in folks who want to fish with us Saturday. Please let me know if you're available to help a vet!

Ihop,
I have some yaks and I am willing to help out.  However, I will require a little lead time to change my current plans.  Also, I have to be somewhere at about 4 :30 so I, and whomever I fish with, will need to report in our 1st and 2nd place  fish early. ;D

Anyone ever fish for bass around Rock Island in the Willamette upstream of the Tualatin River?  I'm thinking of launching from the park in West Linn near there Saturday morning and would welcome the company.

I have never fished it, but I am bored with the same old same old of George Rogers.  Rock Island has a Nature Conservancy preserve on it that I have always wanted to paddle to but have never made it up that way.  Maybe we can get lucky and hook a coho trolling up there. I will see you there unless I am helping Ihop.  I will shoot for a sunrise launch.

I've been up there a couple of times. Hooked a couple, but I have in no way figured out that area. It is a lot of fun to pedal / paddle around up there though. There is a lot of different types of habitat there, so there is bound to be some fish in one of them. I haven't figured out my plans for the weekend, but I may head up there.

Craig,

Thanks for the offer, I have one confirmed and two who will make a decision tomorrow. Steve and I are planning to take the first two and Noah has a yak if we need a third. If we need more I'll let you know.

BTW, we're planning to fish around Cedaroak. Welcome to join us.

Fished it for a while last weekend.  There are definitely fish there.  I hooked 2 on wigglewarts while looking for salmon.  One of the bass guys told me he'd hooked a half dozen with 2 in the 3lb range.
No I won't specify where and no I won't tell you what he caught them on.   >:D

Thanks Spot, that's good enough for me.  Figuring it all out is half the fun!

BTW, please register early if you can.  It will help us get a better idea of how many people we can expect.  I know I'm always looking for an excuse to head down to the Paddle Sports Center and ogle at all the stuff they have in there.

New to Bass fishing so my first thought is to try Hagg Lake and fish the North end.  if anyone is going to be there tomorrow and would like to meet up and provide some help for the newbe let me know.   If not I may try to join Waterman and others around Rock Island.

It would be appreciated if someone posted results. We got skunked down in West Linn. Can someone post the winning fish?

I caught 5 SMB and a coho jack by George Rogers park.  My biggest was a little over 16 inches.  I was told that I got 2nd, but they could be yankin' my chain since I wasn't there for the final bell. ;)  I did have a first ever.  Two SMB hitting the same crankbait at the same time.

Ben, sam's son, got first with a 16.5 inch bass, Craig second with a 16ish bass, and Brian/Owen got third.

Ben and Sam started at Willamette park with us and then headed down to cedar oak in the afternoon. I believe they got the winning fish just off the boat ramp.

We tried for bass for a while at cedar oak and then switched over to sturgeon. Steve got one right off the bat, I then picked up one and then our Hero on the Water Pete got his first yak fish! Not the bass we had been looking for but still a nice fish!

Yeah, they're yanking your chain. Bring your flat bed or 3/4 ton pickup and go get your trophy.

1st place won a half day trip with Jammer. Second place gets a 15 mile nearshore fish less paddle with me...Congrats!
