It was great to see so many fellow kayakers on the water Saturday. We made quite the showing.

Unfortunately I was unable to see the final results of our derby (damn having to work).

So let's post up some results....who caught what---and dog sharks don't count..

A great big thank-you to Scott for putting this together and to everybody that participated.

I would love to see this become an annual event--anyone else feel the same ?

Let's all help to make it happen.........

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Hey, what's with declaring the "official results" when you don't have them to post?  I got excited there for a minute and was severely let down.

Sorry to disappoint ya Brian.I added  a question mark to the title--does that help ?

People should be getting home today and posting the real deal...........

The result was that everybody had a great time and the inaugural Salmon SleighRide event was a resounding success.  The contest was won with a beefy Chinook but several decent Coho were posted as well.

1st Place - Craig        (approx. 17lb Chinook)
2nd Place - NWNoob (6 or 7 lb Coho)
3rd Place - Spot        (5 or 6lb Coho)

Thank you Scott for pulling everything together on relatively short notice!

Argh! Congrats! I lost what was at least second place at the boat cause I didn't have my net ready. It spit the hook and sat in the water just mocking me. It still brings me to tears.

Damn.  Craig must have been saving his luck up.
I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.
