I suggest this thread as a place to thank our community for all it's awesomeness. Feel free to post yours. I'll go first.

Thanks to all the crazy hardcore's on the site who fish their brains out and take the time to document it ALL with words and images. You guys may not know it but you bring a lot of us with you when we can't fish. Thanks!!!

Alright I'm game.

A huge thanks to Jake (Fiskari) and Next Adventure for throwing the bass tourney next weekend. As we are getting the Portland HOW chapter up and rolling, this event is really going to give us some nice momentum and help to spread the word.

Three Cheers!

In 2006 when we started this site, after a year of operation we didn't even have 100 members.  These days we have well over 100 members loggin in every day.  It's been quite the ride.  I am proud of what this community has become, a true brotherhood united by the passion we call kayak fishing.

I can't even tell you how awesome NWKA has been for me!  Without this site I'd still be in the dark ages of kayak fishing.  Alot of folks have been very willing to share info with me that many fisherman would consider proprietary, and I really appreciate it.  I do give back when I can!

Plus, I just really like you guys as people.  In addition to being knowledgeable, you're cool guys and never fail to keep me laughin!

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

My turn...  I want to thank all of you guys for your generous advice, and for the fact that you've found a place for this old gal among all that bromance. Nothing about this site is intimidating or off-putting for a fishing dame, and the guys I've met through here have been nothing short of gentlemen.  And by gentlemen, I mean... fish-slaying, beer-drinking, sea-faring, adventuring adrenalin junkies of the highest order.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice and acceptance.

I love you guys... and gals.  ;D  Whenever I have the computer on, I've got NWKA on the browser.  It's turned into a sort of second family.  Keep on keepin' it real!   :icon_thumleft:

AKgal, you've posted more impressive adventures and catches than 90% of the bros.

I aspire to imitate your achievements and hereby bestow upon you the honorary title of Bro-dzilla for the sea monsters you've landed.

I also appreciate all the great folks who share their experiences, wisdom and wit and those who've created and fostered this forum.

A huge hug to polepole,
I lurked on the NCKA site and was happy to follow Allen here.
I gleened a ton of info from all the Members here and their posts before purchasing my Yak.
I am indebted to you all.
I still lurk here every mornibg between 5:30-6:30 AM.
I wish I had more time to get out...but I must work to pay the bills like everyone else, and I am usually too tired to go out at the end of the day.
So please, continue doing that VooDoo that Y'all do....so well!

Quite simply this group more than any other has become an extended tho sometimes dysfunctional family for me. Traveling as much as i do, being able to log in here and read your posts helps keep me from going stir crazy at remote job sites. And helps motivate me to get a rod in my hands and find local fishing when possible.

Keep the flat sides up guys.

After 40 years of hard core fishing I had begun to taper off in enthusiasm till I found this site. Its really saved me from being a couch potato

Though work and family schedules plus a pathetic king run put a damper into my time this year, my enthusiasm hasn't waned.

This site not only helps me catch fish and enjoy the water but it helps me to do it safely. It is greatly appreciated!!!

Hard to say more than the above posts.

The willingness to share tips, fishing spots, and all sorts of stuff for that matter, just stands out first and foremost about this forum. This generosity and enthusiasm er stoke for the outdoor recreation we all love, each in our own way is something special indeed!

I need a bro hug today.  Spidey has left the house.  I realize that Terry may not have the thickest of skins, but this is the reason we do not allow name calling or personal attacks here.  You are not going to solve anything in this fashion in written form on the internet in this forum.  Stick to debating the topic instead of the people on the other side of the debate.  You guys know who you are, so cut that shit out.  Terry is a friend, one that I will sorely miss here.

I'm here for you, bro.  Hugz inbound.  Ping me on the IM, and we can do it via webcam.

I'm gonna miss Spidey, too.  His posts were some of my favorites.
