Fished a river today in a drift boat and developed some concern about anchoring in a yak. Let's say I drop my 8-10# pyramid anchor above my fishing hole... Flip my bobber out and hook into a nice king... Now it on like donkey kong... Is my anchor really gonna hols against one of these guys?  And what does one do when it breaks free? You got anchor line out, a fish on, and you are headed ino a bend/log jam/clear water... I had just envisioned high ting these guys right up to the yak and netting them like ou might in the open water... Today's experiences complicate this outlook.  Experiences?

Well I use a quick release and an anchor float for sturgeon. And release anchor upon hook up with a big fish. I try to plan my anchoring in a safe spot with little to no objects to drift into.

Your anchor should hold as long as you have enough line out, if it doesn't you will just drag it until it sticks. Work the drag on your reel and you shouldn't be pulled down into any log jams. Have you paddled any minor whitewater before? It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a couple of practice runs without the drift anchor. You can just pull out on the beaches and fish from the bank. It's also a good idea to go with a buddy. Make you can also cut or let the anchor lines slip through your drift anchor if needed. If it gets hung up you want to be able to cut it.
