After researching/reading many posts I've decided on the waders semi-dry top combination.  I don't plan on fishing salt water so the immersion dry suit does not seem cost effective for my intended use (please no haters here I get the safety factor with a dry suit).

While I would prefer to support our local retailers here in Portland the Level Six 'Baron' price on the internet is very attractive.  Any opinions on this top, anyone using it?

Thanks,

Bill

That combo will work great and there is no reason you couldn't us it in the salt. You also always check with Next Adventure in their used section. I used a cheap semi dry top for a long time. It worked great.

Thanks Noah, always appreciate your input.  I will stop by NA before I pull the trigger.

I'm using breathable waders and a dry top combo.  I'm tempted to make it a semi-drytop

I'm tired of being choked.

I still use something similar to this day.  I use a dry top and dry pants with booties and I love it.  The 15th would be a good day to stop by Next since we'll be doing a Kayak Fishing 101 clinic then.

I started with dry top and waders. It works well.
I switched over to the semi dry suit with relief zipper. I like it much better.

I had no issues with the neck gasket on my dry top being too tight.

I use a dry-top and breathable waders.  I have used this all over the sound and in the pacific.  The more you wear it the more the gaskets stretch and ultimately become more comfortable.  I "tested" it in the pacific at ORC this past year and I didnt have any water come in.  I have also walked in the sound up to my chest and only a little water got into it.  I had a paper towel sized water spot on my shirt.  Definitely an economic option..

I use breathable waders and GORTEX top.  Worked for the last three seasons in fresh and salt.  My heed is a size 8+ and just doesn't fit in those neoprene strangulation devices!
