For posterity's sake here's a picture of what I was talking about.  I run the trap line around this ball mount and it makes it SO much easier to haul up.

SLF wants to go crabbin. personally cant stand the things., but willing to help her get her fix.

both lower sound marine areas closest to us are closed. This would be a pier /hoop net trip. any ideas where to go? please hit me up via PM.

Ok, folks, basically i'm looking for help here for spots in MA 13 or north of MA 10 for Pier crabbing. Understand many not willing to publicly share, and a web search isnt turning up much. If willing to help, hit me up via PM,  please.

Thanks Dino
The apparent alternative is to drive to westport  and do a one day harvest pass there. Not very cost effective even with an eco box car.

Sometimes getting out of the house and doing something recreational isn't all about saving gas money.
You just gotta do it.

Think of all those poor folks in North Dakota that get a fresh crab craving.  ;)

Dino, have you seen this?

I hadn't seen this. Sorry its been a few years since I've been on the pier. I've only been going to the launch.

Try Steilacoom pier.

Westport crabbing may be a drive for you, but its worth the drive for me. Fast limits and plenty of large dungeness and redrock for the taking. Plenty of other fishing to do after the limit is caught.
