It looks like a few of the Loose Screws from Norcal are gonna make it again this year.  There are still a few details to work out but HobieDave and Fish 'n Brew (Martin) are making plans to attend.  We had a great time last year and hope to make it an annual event for us.  Thanks again for having us last year!

Martin

It will be great to see you guy's up here again.  I can't wait till GS.  Went fishing out of Depoe Bay today and we  slayed the Ling's.

Damn!  No ORC for the Loose Screws this year.  Just when I thought the plans were in place, a very legitimate and unresolvable conflict came up for HobieDave.   Without Dave's trailer and yak transportation services, I can't make it either.  I guess we will have to target ORC 2014.

Cool, trying to figure out why Roy's not posting KW points since he's slamming the AOTY leader board.

Martin,

As of right now, I have an open spot in my vehicle to get one person, their kayak, and all their gear up to ORC.   ;)

Most of his AOTY points were from January, before Kayak Wars started for the year.

I wouldn't mind hauling somebody to Depoe on my way through Portland.

I imagine it will be the Sunday or Monday before though :P

I can't wait for this fishing trip.

You going to show up in PDX a few days early for keeper Sturgeon? It will be a complete and total cluster on the river.

What day (s) are open for Sturgeon?  I plan on making a PDX stop (couple of days).  Sturgeon and maybe trolling for some salmon.

I'll need to start a thread closer to the trip to plan it out and maybe find some others to go fishing with.

July 11-13 is probably the only day that will actually be open before the quota is met. There won't be much Salmon action around that time.

Sturgeon dates would be the Thursday and Friday before ORC.

Spring salmon is long done or closed  (Willy/Columbia) by mid July. Not sure when the season dates will be for June hogs in the Columbia (but it rarely lasts more than a couple  weeks starting in mid June)

Also remember that July Sturgeon fishing is a totally different animal than winter/spring fishing due to water temp, water flow (or lack there of) and the fact that a great deal of the  fish out-migrate to the Columbia. Theres a reason the season is in July this year...to reduce catch levels.
