Hit up the crab grounds this morning out of Half Moon Bay, CA.  After working hard to get "only" 7 yesterday, we let the pots soak overnight.  Quick limits on the first pull.  My 4 pots had 23 keepers in them which I sorted through for my limit of 10.  Biggest went 7.25"

Mmmm ... Yummm!

It's just some PVC in an "H" shape.  I just set the pots down.

Here are some pics.  I can stack 4 of the Promar pots on them.  The PVC keeps them from sliding off the deck.  If it's a little bumpy out, I may bungee them down, but most of the time the sit there just fine.

Do you normally just shake them out of the pot into your tank well to sort, or do you sort them as you remove them from the pot?

I just open up the pot on my lap and sort as I take them out.  As I cull keepers out, I just reach behind me and set them down.  Once I'm situated, I'll then sit side saddle and bag them up in a burlap sack.

That's what I've been doing (except I put the keepers straight into a pillow case).  Just wondered if folks did it any differently.  It can be a pain (no pun intended) to get some of them out, at least without undue risk of getting pinched.

That's a really cool idea. Simple and effective.
