Hey guys.  I am really glad I found this site!  After not fishing for many years (over 18 years) I am back.  I have two kayaks, a canoe, and a pontoon boat.  I primarily fly fish but I am willing to fish just about anyway and any time.  I am retired and live in Auburn, WA.  So far when fishing from one of my kayaks I have caught rainbow trout, large-mouth bass, crappie, and a few others that I was not to sure about.

I want to learn more about safely fishing from a kayak.  Both of mine are sit inside (one 10' Old Town Angler and one 12' Fish & Stream Angler).  So far I have only used them on lakes but I like fishing for sea run cut throat but have not taken the Yak out for them yet (still beach wadding).  I also would like to take the Yak on some smaller rivers but have not got the courage yet!  Currently planning a couple of trips to Montana and would love to use the Yak on some of the rivers.

I am sure I will have lots of questions after I spend some time reading through some of the treads.

Thanks again for creating this site.  I am looking forward to learning more so I can expand my opportunities to say "Fish On!"

Remember you too are only one "I quit" away from retirement!

Welcome!! I'm still a newbie too. This has been a wonderful source of info. If you have any concerns with matters of safety, make sure you ask the questions. Many are willing to help you out.

Welcome!
I grew up in Auburn and my family is still up there. I introduced my nephew to kayak fishing on Lake Killarney, and he just got his own fishing kayak for Christmas this year.
