2013 rules for Willamette and Columbia Rivers announced!

Sturgeon retention season in July on the Willy but it conflicts with the ORC.    Willy now barbless for salmon and steelhead(below the falls).

Wow, barbless on the Willy.  I'm not the most talented at keeping my lines tight, so I'm going to need to work on that. Better trade in my short stiff cheap rod for a better quality one...

If you are upriver of the Tower island power lines you can fish from a boat or yak. 

I know it's pretty early, but is anybody getting any springer love yet?

I've seen a couple of boats working the downtown area near where I live but haven't seen them catch anything.  It's pretty normal to see a couple of early boats working this area right about now.

Thanks, I checked ifish and it seems pretty quiet still. Maybe I'll wait a few more weeks before testing my Willy barbless skillz. 😉

LOL you better go or you will get left out 

I talked to some folks at the show and was told you can count the number of springers caught on one hand.  I plan on hitting the water once fish start moving over the dam.
