Anyone have an extra NWKA sticker they could part with?  I wanted to epoxy one to the "trophy"..

You thought about mounting it to a simple wooden plaque?

Nah, I think a trophy like that should be used by the winner all year until it's time to pass it on.  A few nicks and blood stains would give it some character.

Not this one.PP never used it and it's gonna have signatures on it. This one can't be used. If you win it and want one you can actually use, i'll make you one.

Yep... not for general use!  Its also not just a once a year thing!

My idea was anytime a significant "group" or "groups" were heading out, be it the spring ling opener in Wash or something like last weekend where a decent number of us were fishing up and down the coast (I bet there were close to 20 fishing)  it could be made available.  It could move around a lot now that there are more and more of us out fishing.  I was also thinking it could pass to anyone who hits the 40" club.  I plan to come up with a way for folks to record their Name, Date, fish specs, location,  while still keeping it small and easy (cheap)  to ship.  Maybe a small "log book" attached to the handle by a cord.  I will write up something easier to understand ::) that will line out the "rules" (to be stickied somewhere on NWKA), and then mail the Trophy off to this weekends winner.  Any merit to making participation linked to those of us with enough posts to hopefully ensure a commitment to NWKA in general and to keeping the Ling trophy moving (like maybe "Elders Forum" only?

You better put it on a plaque then.

Actually, I already own one of these beautiful pieces of art.  Part of my just wanted to put it on the wall, but it always seems a shame to not use something for what it was intended.
