Rawkfish,  I thought you were a Gulp devotee now.   Does Berkley even make a Gulp swimbait?  Is it any good or does the action suffer?

Gulp is too mainstream.  ;D  It's good stuff, but there are key things about it I don't like.  They do make a swimbait but I have not tried it.  6 or 7 bucks for two or three baits that each have a max life of one day on the water... yeah, no thanks.

I've always had swimbaits out with me.

Why do you guys feel gulp shreds too easily?  Occasionally you'll get the tail bitten off, but a stinger hook takes care of that.

I've always thought of most soft plastics as a consumable item, Gulp in particular.  Once [Gulp] hit the water, they have a shelf life of that day only.

I used Gulp baits that I used last year, I just put them back in the bag and spray them with some Gulp Alive and seal back up. They are still catching fish.

Good to know; I'll have to start doing that.

I got a little Plano tub and the last bucket I finished I poured the liquid in that and keep it in my box. Now if I open a bag the rest of the bag get dumped in the tub. Seems to work really well. Don't mix other scented plastics as it seemed to make the liquid cloudy.

Do those Plano tubs seal up better than the Gulp tubs?
I have one of those flat Gulp tubs and it leaks here and there from the lid seal.  :'(

I haven't played with the flat tubs but it definitely seals better than the bucket tubs. So far the plano tub seems pretty leak proof. I feel like I can really tighten it down more too.

What do you like about it?  What do you dislike?  Lets hear your storage ideas!

I haven't been too successful with Gulp Alive, but haven't used it exclusively either.

The price is pretty high and defeats the purpose of not buying real bait, like squid, shrimp and other frozen meat.

Wish there was a container of "Original Recipe" juice available, as I have lost quite a bit from the leaky Gulp container.

Otherwise, it seams like Gulp Alive is a really go to bait and the fish like it (on other people's hook).   ;D

I haven't really messed with the Gulp alive stuff.  It seems like there's too much potential for a big mess.  I've found that simply keeping the gulp packets in a reused zip-lock freezer baggy works well.  After too much juice from packets not being resealed all the way leaks out I simply rinse out the bag or grab another reused zip-lock.

I'm thinking a small see through dry bag may be a way to have a soft sided container that is stronger than the Ziploc bags.

It's better to have something that you can throw out and replace IMO.  Have you smelled that stuff after it starts to go bad?   :puke:
Plus, this gives a second use to the zip-locks that would normally be tossed after their use in the kitchen.  I'm using the freezer storage ones so they're durable enough.
