Minnowmagents sturgeon got me thinking this morning, what are some good sturgeon recipes? The only thing I know about eating sturgeon is that caviar comes from them. So, do you smoke it, grill it, pan fry, bake?

     Ahhhh ---barbiequed sturgeon.

    One of the best ways I've found is to slather a filet of strgeon with bacon flavored Ranch dressing wrapped in foil and thrown on a barbieque for about 20-25 minutes.
     I'm not a big fan of Ranch dressing on salads but it sure does bring out the excellent flavor of the fish.I'd imagine that wrapping a fillet with bacon would be pretty tasty too.

+1 on the BBQ  I usually just slather it with butter, squeeze about 1/2 a lemon all over it, sea salt and pepper and grill for about 20 minutes.

     I rarely use lemon juice....it mask the true flavor.Try using a small amount of orange juice instead if you'd like to sweeten up your recipe.Works pretty good on smoked salmon too.
     That's part of the reason I like to spritz salmon I'm smoking with some Capt.Morgan's spiced Rum.Adds a nice tang to smoked salmon.Never tried it on sturgeon.....hmmmmmmmmmmm?????

Lets not forget smoked sturgeon either. Here's my version of "Sturgeon Candy".
Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

   Not to hi-jack your thread Younggun...but

  I just saw on i-fish that Oregon is only going to allow retention of one sturgeon per year in 2013 and go to C&R only in 2014. Is this a fact ?
  I really hope Washington doesn't follow suit.Not sure if that decision has been made or not........

 Oh..and RR--that smoked sturgeon looks really good.I'm already drooling....duh :o :o

RR;

That looks awesome, I almost started to lick my screen :P

The orange juice also works really good on tuna, my Italian aunt baked tuna fillets in orange juice and another type of juice and it was out of this world.
