Due to the nature of the location of the tournament being one of the major mecca's of salmon fishing in the Northwest finding accommodations for the group is nearly impossible. As such we'll have to leave that part up to you, the entrant. There's many campgrounds and motels/hotels in the area so if you plan on competing this should be your first order of duty.

We will have a tournament HQ where release forms will be available etc. Pier 39. Pier 39 has a few shops, along with title sponsor Astoria Scuba & Adventure Sports, and a restaurant, coffee shop etc. so comfortable digs for sure. Check http://www.pier39-astoria.com for details. We will have a NWKA booth for info on the tournament with the official leader board as well as general information for the public. There will be a few other booths there as well. We should have some space so if you want to gather and hang out that will be the place to do it. Everything tournament-wise will be localized there and we will be having our awards ceremony a few steps away at the Rogue Public House.

The launch location for the NWKA Fall Salmon Classic will be at the Astoria Rowing Club (ARC). It may sound lavish but it's actually an unimproved launch area. Release forms can be taken care of there on the day of the tournament but should be done at HQ if possible. Either way make sure to have your release form filled out before you launch or you will be disqualified from the competition. All weigh-ins will be done at the ARC and the official leader board will be at Pier 39 HQ. So weigh in and then boogie on down to HQ with your fish and hang out with the NWKA crew!

All registration for the tournament will be done online and no cash will be handled day before or day of the competition. Only release forms will be taken care of on site. Make sure to register at the left of the page as soon as you can so that we can get a head count.
Thanks,

Team NWKA

Well, i can't find any info on the ARC on the web. Where exactly is this launch? Trying to figure out drive times from the limited camping in that area.

It's an unimproved launch and doubt there's much info on the web. Here's a Gmap.

Thanks Z, How do you get the speciifc area of the Gmap to show up in the post? I've always had trouble with that.

It's 1.1 miles to the Astoria/101 bridge from this launch and roughly 1.7 miles total to the main Columbia outside Young's Bay.
See ya on the water..

This is a good location for all. Those with a WA license can fish in the mainstem right from the launch. Those with OR license can fish mainstem or bayside.
