I'm new to HOW events (other than the fund raisers).  Does HOW provide the veterans with everything they need to fish (rods, terminal rigs, bait, etc..)?  In other words, do I just need to show up early ready with my own personal gear and an eagerness to help, or is there more that I should prepare for?

You nailed it they have the gear. If there short on something they will let us know. If you want to bring extra gear post it up and if they want to use it someone will hit you up. Your there to help the vets be safe, have fun, relax, and with any luck catch fish..........
Does someone want to cook up a couple salmon filets ? I can bring a camp stove  but don't have a pan.

Are you trying to jinx the salmon fishing?? As posted in the original post, we are having a fish fry. Fish was donated from the Sunset Bay AOTD.

Never been superstitious..... But no just thought it would be nice to have it cooked while we're on the water. I'll leave it in the freezer and I won't bring any bananas

If someone catches a salmon and wants clean, fillet, and donate it, the cook may be willing. However, it adds more complexity to the cook's job. He has a plan for food and usually his plans are awesome.

Steve,

Karen and I will be driving down and returning Saturday. Not sure I have room for another kayak and gear though.

Steve,

I'm also heading down just for the day and live in SE Portland.    With your hand, I'm guessing you don't have a kayak or a lot of gear to bring.  If that's true, I'd have room to give you a ride.

Can you guys let me know if you're able to bring an additional boat? I just got a call from a Vet really needing to get out. Looks like we could use 4 additional boats total.

Great thanks. Safe to assume you will also bring paddle, pfd, and rod holder for it?

Yes indeed. Don't have immersion gear though.
