Just in case anyone is headed out.

I have to figure out a way to put two outbacks (66 inches total width) onto a 58 inch roof rack.  I hope my solution works!

Gotta get my practice runs in since I am on a flight Sunday night.

I've heard herring by Clam Gulch and Down by Anchor Point.  But I also got reports saying ZERO fish off Whiskey Gulch.  Not sure what to do.

At any rate, I will be fishing somewhere!!!  Cook Inlet if current weather holds.

Yah.  But my track rack won't handle the weight. So I got a Yakima big stacker and an extra set of towers to attach to door frame.  Hopefully it's enuf.

As I lay in the back of my landcruiser, I can't help but think that I added yet another but to my tally for the year.  Not too bad for only trip #2 for the year.

Between all 3 of us, 3 buts were landed.....kard has a story about his 2nd one.

Lol. Yup. Landed two. Lost one while trying to secure it to the back of my fiancées kayak. Would not open it's mouth to get a cable through. Did a perfect back flip out and swam away. Dang it. That was a hundred dollar bill retail!  Game clip wouldn't have done me much good. Not sure what the best solution is other than patience.

Sure is slow. Everything seems several weeks late. But they are there'

Michele managed one of the biggest Irish lords I've seen. She also had a huge take down as she was reeling her line in.  I also had my rod double over once, go slack, and up comes a sinker but no flasher or hooks. Very odd

Game clips help huge here. Shove the pointed end under the gill plate and push it out the mouth. Almost impossible for a fish to keep you from running it on the clip. Even works on lock jawed cabizon.

Ok, I got to get the right one. The ones I've seen have some ball/latch mechanism that would be impossible to put through locked jaws.  Sharp stiff pointy end is exactly what I need.

Is there a preferred model? Thx!
