He should be trolling one of these.  I always catch pike one them.

I had three in my go bag for Amsterdam.  Unfortunately, I didn't make it past the ORC. Also, Lings like these things too.

Craig, that looks good, but it won't catch much.  If that's your idea of barbless hooks, I'm surprised you caught any salmon this year.

My bad, I thought the red marks behind the head was a fin or maybe gills.  Now I see that they are the universal symbol for explosive lure.

Haha

Yah it would be tough. You'd think with the mirage drive, Hobie would sponsor a world trolling champion.... Hmmmm

How can Hobie have a kayak tournament that doesn't allow trolling? That's like celebrating Octoberfest and not allowing beer.

I understand they have to be compliant with local laws and regulations, but if you just look at it and don't take a minute to think it through, it really appears to stack the deck in favor of the locals who have grown up with those style restrictions.. so I thought I'd toss a little levity in here to try and lighten a tense spectator mood.
Honestly I'll be happy to see him place further up the list. Hope he was finally able to dial things in.

Big question ; how many PNW anglers have we sent to the "World Championships"?

What fishing tournament doesn't favor locals?

I see the final results are up, USA's Steve Lessard (definitely not a local) won by a fair margin.

It must have been tough fishing though as it appears 12 of the 47 competitors didn't even get on the board.

Here's a photo of Scott using a PNW secret weapon...

blue nitrile gloves

As an OK Pro-staffer, I really think he should insist on paddling that thing. ::)
He looks confused. [emoji12]
More photos of Scott..
