2014 ORC

I'm looking forward to the Rockfish Classic this year for sure.  As long as I can get enough warning to take vacation time it really doesn't matter much when it's held.  We always seem to pull off a great weekend filled with some fishing and fun.  Honestly, there's not too much I'd rather do than spend a weekend at the coast fishing and feeding a campfire.  No mater when it happens - it should be a good time.

It would be nice to get this sorted out sooner than later though.  Lots of folks don't have the vacation time flexibility you and I have, so for their sake at least nailing down a date would be good.  But, I still don't know if there's even been a decision on who is organizing the ORC this year (and no, I'm not volunteering, and I wouldn't have the time on hand to do the event justice even if I wanted to). 

I'm not sure if Jammer was able to/wanted to do again, if bluewrx02 was expected to take it over as the last winner, if polepole and Spot were going to organize it again like in the past, or if someone else was going to step up.

I have in fact stepped down from organizing this years ORC. My fulltime day job has me working out of town for a good part of March, April and May this year. As far as dates are concerned, I think that Spot and Polepole are working on those details now, but you'll need to wait and hear that from them. If I can make it to ORC 14, I'm happy to help wherever I'm needed.

Jammer did such a great job last year that I think who ever does take it over has a tough job to even do as well.

Already had to turn in my leave calendar, hope I can still get the time off.
