Probably have to wait and see what the 2014 Oregon Regulations say

Are they out for Cabezon yet?  That was the deciding factor last year.

I'd think it would be the second or third weekend in July, but that's mostly a guess.

Assuming the same thought process for timing as 2013 it would be on July 12.  But, last I heard it wasn't decided yet who would run the tournament.  So the date should be considered pretty soft for now.

Weather is statistically better closer to our original Father's Day weekend in June.

As obsessively as most people on here check for those kinds of announcements I think it would be hard to miss.

My money is on July 12.  Cabezon is open for retention, and it's separated a bit from July 4.  Nice as it would be from my vacation time perspective to have on July 5, I imagine very few people would show up if it was on that date, and it might even be tough to get enough camping spots at Chinook Bend.  July 19 is a possibility too though.

Statistically, it's a safer bet to have it the weekend of Jun 28th.  The summer NW winds can be problematic.

I guess if we want to make sure John won't take the win with another huge cabbie that would be a good weekend.

Just looked up the Cabby season....  That does present a problem.

I'm looking forward to the Rockfish Classic this year for sure.  As long as I can get enough warning to take vacation time it really doesn't matter much when it's held.  We always seem to pull off a great weekend filled with some fishing and fun.  Honestly, there's not too much I'd rather do than spend a weekend at the coast fishing and feeding a campfire.  No mater when it happens - it should be a good time.
